dieta is paying attention

A dieta process as it is happening here is a journey between extremes, intensity, magnitude and awe of the ceremony and emptiness, silence, stillness of the days in between. An exercise in different forms of concentration, sometimes in “too much” and sometimes in “too little”. Doing so, one has a chance to notice how craving for opposites can arise in distinct situations, and how remedy is always simple acceptance, eventually growing into gratitude. It is not to be obtained by another workshop, another tool, another activity, to obessively “transform”, but rather, through paying attention.

“The concentration
on non-craving
is an opportunity
to sit down
and figure out
what true happiness
really is.

We discover
that we already have
more than enough conditions
to be happy—
right here
in the present moment.

And the concentration
on letting go
helps us disentangle
ourselves from suffering,
transform,
and release
painful feelings.”

~ Thich Nhat Hanh
